The first three wins during this five-game streak have come against clearly inferior teams. However, the last two wins over the Charlotte Bobcats and former coach, Larry Brown, have been satisfying.
Why?
Because they have been against a team that we might be competing with for a playoff spot in the Eastern conference.
Just a few other random thoughts on the game:
-Amar'e Stoudemire is the best player on the team. However, Fat Raymond Felton may be the heart and soul of the Knickerbockers. He has played out of his mind during this five-game winning streak and carried the team on his back. He still can't guard other teams' starting PGs (to the point where we have to bring in Toney Douglas just so we can put Felton on the other team's SGs to hide him) but he's definitely been worth his weight in gold on the offensive end--and he weighs a lot. I feel like I might have to put the "Fat Raymond Felton" comments to rest though after his performance during this streak and the fact that he doesn't look fat anymore.
-Speaking of the best player on the team, Amar'e had a block party on Wednesday night. Especially one crucial block late in the 4th quarter that started a fast break that culminated in a basket. He's been a terrible one-on-one defender (opposing teams' PFs still eat us alive. Ty Thomas continued the tradition on Wednesday evening) but he's been much better than anticipated on help defense.
-I'm hoping other teams haven't scouted the Knicks out in the past 2 games. Danilo Gallinari did not respond well to Stephen Jackson's physical play during the 4th quarter of Tuesday night's game and all of Wednesday night's game. In fact, Jax pushed Gallo around like a baby stroller. The Cock really let it affect his offensive game Wednesday night.
-Oh man, Toney Douglas is John Starks reincarnated but shorter. We saw the good Starks on Wednesday.
-Uhhhh, is Landry Fiels fun to watch or what? He is staking claim to being one of the best glue guys in the NBA.
-The Knicks really, really, really need to chill with the whole routine of going up big but letting the other team come back in the fourth to cut it within five points. It happened in every game during this winning streak.
