According to DraftExpress.com's Jonathan Givony, the New York Knicks have acquired the 29th overall selection in the 2009 NBA Draft from the Los Angeles Lakers for cash considerations.
It's not like the 2008-09 NBA champion Lakers need the 29th pick in tonight's draft. They need to stack them chips up to pay the David Alan Grier puppet if they expect him to stick around.
The all-knowing draft wizards at DX believe the 'Bockers are likely to use the pick on Miami, FL guard Jack McClinton. If you're not familiar, think of him as a melanin-rich Eddie House.
If either are available, I wouldn't mind seeing The Proud Ones taking a chance on North Carolina guard Wayne Ellington or Arizona floormat Chase Budinger at this juncture.
[Update: The New York Daily News reports the Knicks will send $3 million and their 2nd round pick in 2011 to the Lakers for the 29th overall selection in tonight's NBA Draft.]
